
Maize and Blue Concludes Home Indoor Slate With Solid Showing at Silverston Invite

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team closed out its home indoor slate with the Silverston Invitational on Friday (Feb. 21) at the U-M Indoor Track Building.
Amit Rutman posted a season-best 6.96 seconds in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, while Corey Royster posted a time of 6.85 with both advancing to the finals. Royster finished second (6.86) and Rutman finished sixth (6.98).
Jack Juds (47.85) and Jacob Koerner (48.30) both logged personal bests in the 400-meter dash, finishing third and seventh, respectively.
Finishing first in the 600-meter run, Henry Johnson saw a personal-best time of 1:19.44. Kepler Huntress also saw a win, running 1:52.71 in the 800-meter run.
The Wolverines went 1-3-5 the 3,000-meter run, with Jozef Meyers (8:14.44) finishing first, Akili Parekh (8:20.48) finishing third, and Kyler McNatt (8:28.55) finishing fifth.
In the weight throw, Josh Huisman threw for a personal best 17.65 meters (57 feet, 11 inches) to finish third. Luke Stowasser equaled his season best in the high jump, clearing 1.95m (6-4.75) to finish third.
Cole Sheldon cleared 4.91m (16-1.25) in the pole vault to set a personal best and finish first, while Liam Kinney finished second (4.61m, 15-1.5).
U-M will close out the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 22) at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. The distance medley relay team of Miles Brown, Brendan Herger, Trent McFarland and John O'Reilly will race at noon, while Peter Baracco and Ian Hill are set for the 3,000-meter run at 2:45 p.m.
