Olson Named B1G Freshman of the Year, U-M Quartet Honored (March 3)
Feb. 10 -- Syla Swords
Big Ten Freshman of the Week, Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll
» Syla Swords was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the third time after helping Michigan to a 2-0 week with a pair of road wins. She was also named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll, the first Wolverine to earn the honor this season.
» Swords recorded 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in a road win at Nebraska (Feb. 6).
» She followed that up with a game-high 19 points in Michigan's win at No. 20 Michigan State (Feb. 9).
» Against the Spartans, she also had five rebounds and six assists.
» For the week, Swords averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.
Feb. 3 -- Olivia Olson
Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Olivia Olson was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second time after helping Michigan to a 1-1 week.
» She recorded the first 30-point game of her career, finishing with 30 points on 13-for-19 shooting at Wisconsin (Jan. 29).
» She also had four rebounds and three steals against the Badgers.
» Olson tallied her second double-double of the season in Michigan's win over Oregon (Feb. 2), finishing with 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting and 10 rebounds.
» For the week, Olson averaged 24.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game She shot 68.9 percent from the floor over the two games.
Dec. 9 -- Olivia Olson
Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Olivia Olson was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for first time after helping Michigan open Big Ten action with a 60-54 win over Northwestern (Dec. 8).
» She scored a game-high 18 points with six rebounds, nine fouls drawn and a steal in 36 minutes as Michigan rallied for the win.
» Olson opened the fourth quarter with a personal 8-0 run, helping Michigan turn a four-point deficit into a four-point lead.
» She recorded her fifth straight double-figure scoring game.
» A Michigan freshman has claimed four of the five weekly honors given by the conference this season. It is the first time in program history that Michigan has had three different freshmen honored in the same season.
Dec. 2 -- Syla Swords
Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Syla Swords was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after helping Michigan to a 2-0 week and the Fort Myers Tip-Off Shell Division Championship.
» She was named the MVP of the Fort Myers Tip-Off after averaging 19.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game across the two games. She made nine three-pointers for the weekend on 50.0 percent shooting from deep.
» Swords recorded 14 points, eight rebounds and two assists in Michigan's win over Belmont (Nov. 29).
» She followed that up with 24 points, six rebounds, two steals and an assist in the Wolverine win over Virginia Tech (Nov. 30). She was 6-for-10 from three-point range, becoming the 10th different Wolverine to hit at least six three-pointers in a game.
» A Michigan freshman has claimed three of the four weekly honors given by the conference this season.
Nov. 18 -- Mila Holloway
Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Mila Holloway was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the first time in her career after helping Michigan to a 2-0 week and scoring in double figures in both games.
» She recorded the first 20-point game of her career with 21 points, eight assists, two rebounds and five steals against Central Michigan (Nov. 14).
» Holloway followed that up with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal against Oakland (Nov. 17).
» For the week, she averaged 18.5 points per game, hitting seven three-pointers on 50 percent shooting.
» It is the second straight Freshman of the Week honor for Michigan after Syla Swords earned the nod last week. It is the first time Michigan has had multiple freshmen earn weekly honors in program history.
Nov. 11 -- Syla Swords
Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Syla Swords strong>was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week after bursting onto the scene during Michigan's first week of action.
» She recorded a 27-point, 12-rebound double-double in Michigan's opening contest against No. 1 South Carolina (Nov. 4).
» Swords became just the third player since 2009 to record at least 27 points and 12 rebounds against South Carolina.
» She scored the most points for a U-M freshman in their debut in the NCAA era and second-most ever behind Peg Harte's 28 points against Western Michigan on Nov. 27, 1981.
» She followed that up with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists in Michigan's win over Lehigh (Nov. 8).
» Swords ended the third quarter on her own 9-0 run, capped by a buzzer-beating triple in transition.
