U-M to Embark on Sweet 16 Clash with Top-Seeded Auburn in Atlanta

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The 14th-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team (27-9, 14-6 Big Ten) will make its sixth Sweet 16 in the last six NCAA Tournament appearances on Friday (March 28). The fifth-seeded Wolverines will take on No. 4 and top-seeded Auburn (30-5, 15-3 SEC) for a shot at the Elite Eight in the State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta, Ga. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:39 p.m. on CBS. Calling the game will be Ian Eagle, Bill Raftery, Grant Hill and U-M grad Tracy Wolfson.

• Michigan's game with No. 1 seed Auburn follows the No. 2 seed Michigan State game with No. 6 seed Ole Miss at 7:09 p.m. The Wolverines are scheduled to tip at 9:39 p.m. Both Atlanta games will be on CBS.
• Michigan is making its 19th NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.
• Michigan has now advanced to the Sweet 16 in its last six NCAA appearances: 2017 (Sweet 16), 2018 (national runner-up), 2019 (Sweet 16), 2021 (Elite Eight), 2022 (Sweet 16).
• Michigan's eight NCAA Sweet 16s (since 2013) are tied with Duke for the second-most in the nation behind Gonzaga's nine. Arizona has seven Sweet 16s while Houston, Kentucky, North Carolina, Purdue, and UCLA have six.
• Michigan's eight Sweet 16 appearances (since 2013) have come under three different U-M head coaches: John Beilein (five times: 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019); Juwan Howard (two times: 2021, 2022) and Dusty May (2025).
• Michigan has 17 games decided by four or fewer points. After U-M fell in four of its first six games, the Maize and Blue have won 11 straight and are 13-4. Since 1939, Michigan's 13 wins by four or fewer points ties Bradley (1985-86) for the most in NCAA history.
• In May's first season in Ann Arbor, he has led the Wolverines to a 27-9 record, a runner-up regular-season finish in the Big Ten (14-6), and as the No. 3 seed, won three games in three days to claim the program's fourth Big Ten Tournament title.
• May helped the Maize and Blue return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in three years (2022). With two opening wins, he helped the Wolverines reach the Sweet 16 in their sixth straight appearance.
• Over his last 12 games, Vladislav Goldin has 11 double-figure games, with eight of his 13 20-plus-point games. He adds six 10-plus-rebound games and five of his seven double-doubles.
• Danny Wolf (13.0 ppg and 9.8 rpg) is tied for the Big Ten lead with 15 double-doubles (Maryland's Derik Queen and Julian Reese). Wolf, the Big Ten rebounding leader, has 19 of U-M's 28 10-plus rebound games.
• Tre Donaldson became the first Wolverine with 150-plus assists (151) since Devonte' Jones (2021-22; 151, 4.6 apg). Donaldson also surpassed 300 for his career (302). Behind Donaldson, Wolf is second on U-M with 131 assists (3.6 apg). He has 51 of his 131 assists to Goldin -- the most between any two Wolverines.
