April 10 -- Fred Richard
CGA Gymnast of the Week
» Fred Richard was named CGA Gymnast of the Week for the second straight week and fifth time this season after winning the Big Ten All-Around title (83.450) while helping lead the Wolverines to a fifth straight Big Ten Championship last Friday (April 4).
» He was also named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Championships, named to the All-Big Ten first team, and is a CGA Gymnast of the Year nominee.
» Richard finished fourth on the pommel horse (13.750) at the Big Ten Event Finals (April 5).
» He leads the nation on parallel bars (14.375) and high bar (14.150) and ranks ninth on pommel horse (13.725).
April 9 -- Solen Chiodi, Aaronson Mansberger
Big Ten All-Freshman Team
» Solen Chiodi and Aaronson Mansberger were named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team following their performances at the Big Ten Championships last Friday and Saturday (April 4-5).
» Chiodi tied for ninth on vault at during the team finals to advance to Saturday's event finals, where he finished third with a score of 14.400 to come just 0.100 points shy of his career high. He was named to the All-Big Ten second team.
» Mansberger placed second on the pommel horse at the team finals with a career-high 14.700, one of just two Wolverines to score above 14.000. He finished sixth in the event finals (13.575).

CGA Rookie of the Year Nominee
» Aaronson Mansberger helped lead the Wolverines to its highest team pommel horse score (55.250) at the Big Ten Championships, posting a career-high 14.700.
» He finished sixth (13.575) on the pommel horse in the Big Ten Event Finals and ranks fourth in the nation on the event with an average of 14.438.

» Fred Richard was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time this season after an impressive showing at Nebraska to close out the regular season.
» He won the parallel bars title with a season-high score of 14.950 and the high bar title (14.350). Richard's parallel bars score is the highest in the nation.
» He also posted season-high scores on floor exercise (14.400) and still rings (14.300).
» Richard leads the nation on parallel bars (14.333) and high bar (14.167).

» Charlie Larson earned his fifth floor title of the season at Nebraska.
» He posted a career-best score on floor with a 14.850, the highest score in the nation.

Big Ten Freshman of the Week (March 25), CGA Rookie of the Week (March 27)
» Aaronson Mansberger was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second straight week after his performance at Nebraska.
» He won the pommel horse title with a score of 14.450, his fifth score above 14.000 and fourth straight.
» Mansberger is fourth in the nation and third in the conference on pommel horse with an average score of 14.350.

CGA Rookie of the Week (March 19), Big Ten Freshman of the Week (March 18)
» Aaronson Mansberger was named CGA Rookie of the Week a day after earning Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors on March 18.
» This is Mansberger's first career CGA weekly honor, while the Big Ten honor is his second of the season.
» Finished second on the pommel horse with a career-best 14.600 in the 328.100-322.000 victory over Ohio State on March 15. Ranked sixth in the nation and third in the league on the pommel horse, averaging 14.200.

Big Ten Gymnast of the Week
» Fred Richard was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the third straight week after a strong weekend at the USA Gymnastics Winter Cup.
» He finished second in the all-around with a total score of 159.000.
» Richard took bronze on the parallel bars (27.650) and high bar (26.650).

AAU Sullivan Award Semifinalist
» Fred Richard competed in the 2024 Olympics for Team USA, helping lead it to a third-place finish for USA's first team medal since 2008. The Stoughton, Mass., native also qualified for the individual all-around, finishing 15th in his Olympic debut.
» Qualifying for the Olympic Games after winning the all-around and high bar at the 2024 Olympic Trials, Richard is the youngest men's gymnast (20 years old) to qualify for the Olympics as a Trials champion since 1972. At the 2024 USA Championships, he won the floor exercise title and finished second in the all-around and on the high bar.Â
» A seven-time NCAA All-American, Richard is a three-time NCAA National Champion (2023 all-around, parallel bars, high bar) and a three-time Big Ten Champion (2023 all-around, high bar; 2024 all-around). He was named the 2023 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, 2024 Big Ten Gymnast of the Year, and the 2023 and 2024 Big Ten Gymnast of the Championships.
» The AAU Sullivan Award honors the most outstanding collegiate, Olympic, or similar level athlete in the U.S. First presented in 1930, the AAU Sullivan Award recognizes the outstanding athlete whose athletic accomplishments are complemented by qualities of leadership, character, and sportsmanship. Past winners include Caitlin Clark, Simone Biles, Shawn Johnson and Michael Phelps.
» Public voting to determine the finalists will close on Feb. 25. The winner will be announced on April 15 at the New York Athletic Club.

» He won the parallel bars title, tying his season-high score of 14.450, and also earned the high-bar title (14.300). Richard finished third on the pommel horse with a season-high score of 13.900.
» Richard leads the nation on the high bar with an average of 14.283.

» Fred Richard had an impressive Big Ten debut in U-M's 322.100-315.450 win over No. 2 Illinois.
» He won the floor exercise (14.200) and the high bar title with a season-high score of 14.700, the highest score on the event of any gymnast in the nation.
» Finished second on parallel bars (14.450) to give U-M a podium sweep.

Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Carson Eshleman was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after an impressive tri-meet at Springfield College.
» Won the parallel bars title (13.250) and still rings title with a season-high score of 14.100.
» Finished third on the high bar (13.350) to give U-M a podium sweep.
» Has the ninth-best high bar average (13.567) in the nation and sixth-best in the league.
Jan. 21 -- Aaronson Mansberger
Big Ten Freshman of the Week
» Aaronson Mansberger was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his collegiate debut at the Windy City Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 18).
» Finished second on the pommel horse with a score of 14.450, the fourth-best pommel horse score of the weekend in the nation and third-best in the conference.
» Has the fourth-best pommel horse average score in the nation (14.450) and third-best in the conference.

CGA Rookie of the Week
» Carson Eshleman had an impressive debut for the Maize and Blue against Greenville and Simpson in the season opener on Jan. 11, taking two event titles to help lead the Wolverines to wins over the Storm and Panthers.
» Won the still rings with a score of 13.400, the fifth-best score in the NCAA and second-best score in the Big Ten, before claiming a win in the high bar. His high bar score of 13.500 is tied to lead the nation.

Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch
» Landen Blixt had a breakout sophomore season, winning his first career Big Ten title on floor exercise before finishing fourth on the event at the NCAA Championships and earning All-America honors for the second straight season.
» Fred Richard continued his impressive career in 2024, winning his third-career Big Ten title in the all-around after being named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Year and Gymnast of the Championships. The Stoughton, Mass., native also earned a pair of All-America honors with second place finishes on the still rings and in the all-around.
