BATON ROUGE, La. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team continued its weekend competition with the first day of the Battle on the Bayou on Friday (March 28) at LSU.
Krish Gupta finished 27th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.71.
Four Wolverines finished in the top 10 of the 1,500-meter run, with Camden Law placing third with a personal-best time of 3:44.43 to lead the group. Brendan Herger finished fifth (3:44.56) in his outdoor debut, followed by Aiden Sullivan in eighth (3:46.06) and Henry Johnson in 10th (3:46.49). Jonathan Miles also made his outdoor debut, placing 16th with a time of 3:49.49.
Jake Wall placed 10th in the long jump with a mark of 7.16 meters (23-6), while Eli Winter also finished 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 61.12 meters (200-6).
Pole vaulters Liam Kinney and Cole Sheldon both cleared 5.00 meters (16-4.75) to set new personal bests and finish 12th and 15th, respectively.
The Maize and Blue will close out the Battle on the Bayou on Saturday (March 29) in Baton Rouge, La., beginning at 10:30 a.m. CTÂ with the shot put.
