
U-M Sets Trio of Top-10 Program Marks at Len Paddock Open

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team closed out its regular-season slate on Friday (May 9), hosting the Len Paddock Open at the U-M Track and Field Stadium, setting three top 10 program marks.
Amit Rutman finished fifth in the 100-meter run to come just 0.04 seconds shy of his personal best. Jacob Koerner finished eighth with a personal-best time of 10.83 seconds.
The Wolverines took the top two spots in the 800-meter run, with Miles Brown finishing first (1:47.04) and John O'Reilly finishing second (1:47.93). The pair posted personal bests and the No. 6 and No. 9 times, respectively, on the program performers list.
Kyler McNatt won the 3,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 8:37.84, shaving more than 11 seconds off his previous best.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Neil Howard placed second with a time of 53.39 to come 0.40 seconds short of his personal best.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Amit Rutman, Krish Gupta, Koerner and Corey Royster posted a season-best time of 39.94 to finish first, the No. 2 time on the program performers list. The time came just 0.02 seconds from tying the program record.
Cole Sheldon finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 4.91 meters (16 feet, 1.25 inches), while Luke Stowasser finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.96m (6-5).
In the hammer throw, Josh Huisman finished ninth with a personal-best mark of 54.24m (177-11) to throw 10.73m farther than his previous best.Â
Michigan will open the postseason heading to Hayward Field in Hayward, Ore., for the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, next Friday through Sunday (May 16-18).
