
U-M Set for Friday Road Matchup With Oakland

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 25-ranked University of Michigan men's soccer team (3-0-1) will play its first road match of the season when it travels to Rochester, Mich., to face Oakland at Oakland Soccer Field on Friday (Sept. 5) at 7 p.m.
Notes
• Michigan is undefeated through the first four games of the season, posting a 3-0-1 record with three straight wins.
• Shuma Sasaki leads the team in points with five through four starts. The graduate student notched his second goal of the season to lead the Wolverines to a 1-0 win over Bowling Green on Monday (Sept. 1).
• The Wolverines have scored first in three consecutive matches and have gone on to win each of those contests.
• Michigan is tied for first in the Big Ten with just two goals allowed in four matches and ranks third in the league with a goal difference of five.
• Isaiah Goldson is tied for the best goals-against average in the Big Ten with a rate of 0.5 goals allowed per start.
• Five different players have found the back of the net for the Maize and Blue. Sasaki and Quin Rogers are tied for the team lead with two goals. Three Wolverines -- Raymundo Mendez, Nolan Miller and Mitar Mitrovic -- have one goal each with all three goals coming in the win over Creighton on Friday (Aug. 29).
• U-M will meet Oakland for the 24th time in program history, the most of any of its non-conference opponents. The Wolverines lead the series 15-3-5, and won the most recent meeting in 2024 by a score of 2-1.
• After Friday's match, U-M will open Big Ten play when it travels to Bloomington, Ind., to take on Indiana on Saturday, Sept. 13.
