
Wolverine Trio Posts Top-10 Marks at Wolverine Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team hosted the Wolverine Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 10) at the U-M Track Building to open its 2026 home slate, with a trio of Wolverines posting top-10 program marks.
Graduate transfer Chyler Turner got off to a strong start for the Maize and Blue, winning the 60-meter hurdles (8.41 seconds) after recording a time of 8.38 in the preliminaries. Her preliminary time comes in at No. 9 on the program performers list. Turner also ran in the 60-meter dash, finishing fourth in the preliminaries with a personal best time of 7.63.
Freshmen Emmry Ross finished second in the 600-meter dash with a time of 1:29.26, the No. 4 time on the program performers list, while Lauren Bickerdt finished fifth (1:35.58).
U-M went 1-2-4 in the 800-meter dash, with Coraline Haggarty finishing first (2:09.10), Alyna Lewis finishing second (2:12.40) and Samantha Hastie finishing fourth (2:14.38). In the mile run, Stephanie Bertram earned a first place finish with a time of 4:47.09.
The Wolverines took the top five spots in the 3,000-meter run. Rylee Tolson led the contingent with a season best time of 9:33.33 while Sophie Cloutier finished second (9:36.13) and Anjali Hocker Singh finished third (9:36.84). Penelopea Gordon placed fourth with a time of 9:43.37 and Gabbie Michael placed fifth with a time of 9:48.92. Both Cloutier and Hocker Singh posted personal bests.
Kourtney Rathke cleared a personal best 4.15 meters (13 feet, 7.25 inches) in the pole vault for the win, the No. 5 mark on the program performers list. Rathke is just the fifth Wolverine to clear 4.00m. Gabriella Newman cleared a personal best 1.76m (5-9.25) in the high jump to finish second.
In the shot put, Michigan claimed the top three finishes. Sophomore Abigail Russell placed first with a mark of 15.77m (51-9), senior Trinity Franklin placed second with a mark of 14.56m (47-9.25) and freshman Janey Campbell placed third with a mark of 14.22m (46-8). Rusell also finished first in the weight throw, coming just 0.01m shy of her personal best with a mark of 19.12m (62-8.75).
The Wolverines will stay at home to host the Simmons-Harvey Invitational at the U-M Indoor Track Building on Saturday, Jan. 17.
