FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The No. 22-ranked University of Michigan men's track and field team opened the Razorback Invitational on Friday (Jan. 30) at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Will Barhite led a contingent of Wolverines in the 200-meter dash, finishing 35th with a time of 21.70 seconds to come just 0.06 seconds from his personal best. Jake Machiniak placed 37th with a time of 21.77, while Krish Gupta placed 42nd (22.01) and Amit Rutman placed 43rd (22.08).
Camden Law ran a season-best 1:47.95 in the 800-meter run to place fifth. John O'Reilly finished 13th with a time of 1:48.55 and Miles Brown finished 16th with a time of 1:49.67.
In the pole vault, Cole Sheldon cleared 5.05 meters (16 feet, 6.75 inches) to finish 11th and tie his personal best, while Liam Kinney cleared a season best 4.90m (16-0.75) to finish 12th.
Neil Howard and Tyler Baker sit in sixth and eighth, respectively, in the heptathlon after the first four events. The pair will conclude the meet on day two with the 60-meter hurdles, the pole vault and the 1,000-meter run.
Michigan will close out the weekend with the second day of the Razorback Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 31), with the heptathlon 60-meter hurdles opening the day at 10:50 a.m. CT.
