» Michigan opened spring play with a first-round 297 to sit ninth after Day 1 of the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate at the Flamboyan Course at Palmas del Mar Golf Club.
» Leading the Wolverines, Jordan Hwang carded U-M's lone sub-par round of the day, firing a 70 (-2) with six birdies (five coming on the front nine) to tie for seventh. The round marked Hwang's fifth sub-par tally of the season.
» Michigan also placed three players inside the top 40, led by Dean Muratore (74), who is tied for 30th. Nilay Naik (75) and individual competitor Johnny Solis (75) are both tied for 38th.
