
Michigan Men to Send Seven Swimmers to Atlanta for NCAA Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Seven swimmers from the No. 10-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, the association announced Wednesday (March 11).
Luka Mladenovic and Tyler Ray lead the Wolverines with three event qualifications each. Ray earned Big Ten Swimmer of the Championships honors after winning the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events individually and helping the Maize and Blue to two relay conference titles.
Mladenovic swept the breaststroke events and joined Ray with two relay victories at the Big Ten Championships.
Colin Geer and Lorne Wigginton qualified for two races apiece. Geer will compete for a national title in the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard IM, where he ranks second nationally with an entry time of 1:40.15.
Wigginton will race in the 400-yard IM and the 500-yard freestyle. He set the school record in the 400 IM at the Big Ten Championships with a time of 3:35.21, ranking third nationally.
Rounding out the individual qualifiers are Eitan Ben-Shitrit, Ole Eidam and Jack Wilkening. Ben-Shitrit will join Geer and Mladenovic in the 200-yard IM, while Eidam will represent U-M in the 100-yard butterfly. Wilkening will close his Michigan career in the 100-yard backstroke.
The NCAA Championships begin March 25 in Atlanta, Ga., at McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.
