
Maize and Blue to Close Indoor Season at NCAA Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will close out the indoor season on Friday and Saturday (March 13-14) at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Randal Tyson Track Center. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Notes
• Trent McFarland qualified for the mile run and will be part of the distance medley relay squad along with Brendan Herger, Camden Law and Miles Brown.
• This will be McFarland and Brown's second trip to the NCAA Indoor Championships in three years, qualifying for the meet in 2024 as part of the DMR and finishing 12th (9:38.40). U-M did not qualify athletes for the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships.
• McFarland won gold in the mile run (4:11.03) at this season's Big Ten Indoor Championships for the second straight year. In January, the junior set the program mile record with a time of 3:52.73 at the Razorback Invitational. The time is No. 14 on the NCAA all-time performers list and ninth this season.
• The DMR squad also won gold at the Big Ten Indoor Championships (9:38.72) and set the program record in February with a time of 9:14.80 at the Alex Wilson Invitational. The time leads the NCAA this season and is No. 3 on the NCAA all-time all-conditions performers list.
• Preliminaries for the mile run will be on Friday at 5:20 p.m. CT, with 10 runners advancing to the finals on Saturday at 4:20 p.m. CT. The distance medley relay finals are set for 8:30 p.m. CT on Friday.
