
Michigan to Head West to Open Big Ten Schedule at USC

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (5-2, 0-0 Big Ten) opens its 2026 Big Ten Conference schedule on Sunday (March 15) against USC (6-2, 0-0 Big Ten) in a 1 p.m. PT contest at Rawlinson Stadium. The conference opener will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan moved up one spot in the rankings and sits at No. 7 after an important 8-7 win over No. 14 Colorado. The Buffaloes were the Wolverines' fifth ranked opponent, and they hold a 3-2 record against ranked teams this season.
• Sophomore Emma Burke broke her standing program single-game draw-control record against Central Michigan, winning 22 against the Chippewas to personally outdraw CMU 22-11 and lost only two for the game. Her 22 draw control wins also rank third all-time in NCAA single-game history, alongside Haley Wagner of Marist (April 27, 2019).
• Michigan also tied its single-game goals mark against Central Michigan, scoring 23 times against the Chippewas to match its total against Detroit Mercy on Feb. 14, 2022.
• Burke and freshman Elizabeth Johnson earned Big Ten weekly awards following their performances against Central Michigan and Colorado. Burke was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Week after her record-setting performance against Central Michigan and adding nine draw-control wins against No. 14 Colorado. She is tied for 14th nationally with 9.43 draw-control wins per game.
• Johnson was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after a pair of victories in the cage last week, including a one-goal contest against Colorado. She made 12 saves on the week, with 10 against the Buffaloes, and carries a .482 save percentage. She picked up a key ground ball in the final minute against the Buffaloes to lock up the victory.
• Junior Emma Bradbury leads Michigan with 25 points, with a team-best 19 goals -- including a career-best nine points with six goals and three assists against South Florida.
• The senior trio of Grace Callahan,Taylor Cullen and Jordyn Harrison has been holding down the defensive end of the field, combining for 25 caused turnovers and 26 ground balls. Harrison leads the team with nine caused turnovers, including four against Yale and two against Boston College, while Cullen has picked up 10 ground balls and Callahan nine.
• Graduate student Ava Class and senior Grace Callahan are on the 2026 Tewaaraton Watch List. Callahan earned a spot on the list for the second straight season, while it is the first appearance for Class. Callahan ranks seventh all-time with 55 caused turnovers and eighth all-time with 85 ground balls. Class has 60 career points, with 45 goals and 15 assists.
• Michigan will continue its road schedule when it heads to State College, Pa., for a Sunday, March 22, matchup against Penn State. The game is set for a noon start and will be streamed live on B1G+ for a noon contest against the Nittany Lions.
