
Maize and Blue Sets Four Top-10 Program Times at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team opened the Raleigh Relays on Thursday (March 26) at the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility, setting four top-10 program times.
A trio of Wolverines went 1-2-4 in the 1,500-meter run, with Trent McFarland leading the contingent. The junior finished first with a time of 3:35.80, while Brendan Herger placed second (3:36.03) and Henry Dixon placed fourth (3:38.70). All three saw personal-best times and set the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 times on the program performers list. McFarland's time was just 0.61 seconds shy of the program record.
Aiden Sullivan (3:44.75) and Jonathan Miles (3:45.31) also ran in the 1,500-meter run, finishing 38th and 39th, respectively. Miles' time was a personal best. Jack Bidwell placed 36th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:06.73.
In the 5,000-meter run, Nathan Lopez finished 13th in a personal-best 13:42.56, and William Beardsley placed 44th (14:07.31). Lopez's time is No. 6 on the program performers list.
Luke Venhuizen finished in 50th place in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 29:59.46.
Michigan will continue the weekend with the first day of the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational in Miami, Fla., opening the meet at 11 a.m. with the hammer throw.
