
Michigan Continues Competition at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team opened competition at the Penn Relays on Thursday (April 23) at Franklin Field.
The Wolverines placed fifth in the distance medley relay with a time of 9:33.82. Riley Flemington ran 2:51.37 on the 1,200-meter leg to put the team in sixth. John O'Reilly followed with a 46.46 split on the 400-meter leg to move Michigan into fifth before Miles Brown surged with a 1:43.84 split over 800 meters, the fastest third leg in the field, to push U-M into second heading into the anchor. Henry Dixon closed out the race on the 1,600-meter leg with a 4:12.16 split as the Wolverines finished fifth.
Amit Rutman, Jake Machiniak, Krish Gupta and Corey Royster placed 20th in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 40.91. In the 4x400-meter relay, Will Barhite, Gupta, Malachi Mosley and Nick Butler-Simpson finished 14th in 3:09.81.
Barhite, Gupta, Mosley and Dixon added a 10th-place finish in the sprint medley relay with a time of 3:22.98.
The Maize and Blue will close out the Penn Relays on Saturday (April 25), beginning with the 4xMile relay at 1:05 p.m.
