
Wolverines Secure NCAA Tournament Bid

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament it was announced on Monday (April 27). U-M will make its 10th consecutive appearance in the tournament and 35th appearance in program history.
Michigan (13-10) will face Pepperdine (17-9) in the first round in Baton Rouge, La., at LSU at 2 p.m. CT on Friday (May 1). The Michigan/Pepperdine winner will face the winner of host LSU and Alabama State on Saturday (May 2).
Pepperdine makes its 43rd NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth straight with an at-large bid. The Waves lost in the West Coast Conference semifinals. Alabama State (11-9) is an automatic qualifier after winning the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). LSU (25-6) is the No. 7 seed, a year after not qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers lost to Mississippi State in the SEC semifinals.Â
