LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Michigan softball team placed three players on National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region teams, the organization announced Thursday (May 14). Sophomore outfielder Lauren Putz and junior utility/pitcher Erin Hoehn were named to the all-region first team, while junior outfielder Jenissa Conway earned third-team honors.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the association's 10 regions with first-, second- and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all student-athletes now become eligible for the 2026 NFCA Division I All-America squads. The 2026 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 27.
Putz, who previously earned NFCA all-region second team honors last season, leads the Wolverines in nearly all hitting categories this season, including batting average (.442), home runs (21) and RBI (77). Her homer and RBI numbers rank third among U-M's all-time single-season leaders, while she lists 10th nationally in RBI per game (1.43), 12th in slugging percentage (.987) and 19th in on-base percentage (.554). She was named a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten first team last week.
Hoehn earns her first all-region recognition after a breakout season at the plate, boasting career highs with a .358 batting average -- a 136-point improvement over her previous best -- as well as 12 extra-base hits and 30 RBI. From the circle, Hoehn owns an 8-5 record on the season with a 4.29 earned-run average and 95 strikeouts.
Conway returns to the all-region squad after earning first-team selection last season en route to NFCA All-America honors. Conway owns a .373 batting average, ranking second on the team behind Putz, with 54 runs and 44 RBI. She boasts a .708 slugging percentage with 12 doubles, seven triples and 12 home runs; she lists among the national leaders with her seven three-baggers.
Michigan will kick off NCAA Tournament play against Kansas on Friday (May 15) at 5 p.m. CT at Love's Field in Norman, Okla.
