Wolverines Set for Home Matches Against Niagara, SIUE

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team will continue its season with a pair of matches at U-M Soccer Stadium, hosting Niagara on Thursday (Aug. 27) at 4 p.m. as part of a soccer doubleheader before welcoming SIUE on Sunday (Aug. 30) at 2 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan enters the week with a 0-0-1 record after playing LMU to a scoreless draw in its season opener on Thursday (Aug. 20).
• Nine Wolverines made their Michigan debuts against LMU, including Alen Bean, who earned the start in goal and recorded a shutout in his first appearance for the Maize and Blue.
• Freshman Andrew Craig started at center back in his collegiate debut, becoming the first true freshman to start a season opener on defense for Michigan since Will Baker and Matthew Fisher did so against LMU in 2023.
• After being named a Big Ten Player to Watch, Nico Pendleton earned the start in attack against LMU. Pendleton joined the Wolverines after two seasons at Marquette, where he recorded 15 points.
• Joah Reyna made his first career start in the midfield against LMU. Now in his second season with the program, Reyna appeared in three matches during his freshman campaign.
• Four freshmen -- Camron Estala, Alex Gimple, Landon Strohmeyer and Austin Su -- also made their collegiate debuts against the Lions. Michigan's freshman class was ranked No. 4 nationally in TopDrawerSoccer's 2026 recruiting class rankings.
• Michigan will face Niagara for the first time in 11 seasons. The Wolverines hold a 2-0-0 advantage in the all-time series, most recently earning a 2-1 double-overtime victory on Sept. 6, 2015.
• U-M will meet SIUE for just the second time in program history. The Wolverines won the only previous meeting, earning a 3-1 victory in 2019.
