Wolverines to Open Fall Season at Badger Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's golf team opens its fall season Sunday through Tuesday (Sept. 13-15) at the Badger Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-72, 6,332-yard layout, with 18 holes scheduled each day.

• Michigan is part of a 16-team field that includes Boise State, Bradley, Colorado State, Delaware, FIU, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, New Mexico State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Sam Houston, Washington State, Western Kentucky and host Wisconsin.
• The Wolverines will compete alongside four Big Ten programs: Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern and Wisconsin. Michigan will be paired with Wisconsin and Iowa for Sunday's opening round, teeing off No. 1 beginning at 9:50 a.m. CT.
• Michigan's lineup for the Badger Invitational will feature sophomore Reese Ng, junior Jaymie Ng, freshman Martha Kuwahara, sophomore Thomasine Bartholdson and freshman Amanda Revuelta. Freshman Guia Acutis will compete as an individual.
• Michigan has played University Ridge several times, highlighted by a third-place finish at the 1996 Lady Badger Invitational and a second-place finish in the 2015 East & West Match Play Challenge stroke-play qualifier. Sharon Park won the 1996 Lady Badger individual title with a 228 (78-76-74), while Grace Choi was the 2015 runner-up with a 139 (-5). Megan Kim added a fourth-place finish at 142 (-2).
• At the 2010 Big Ten Championships held at University Ridge, Ashley Bauer finished runner-up with a 283 (-5), highlighted by a career-best 65 in the second round. In Michigan's most recent appearance at University Ridge, the Wolverines placed fifth in the 2017 East & West Match Play Challenge stroke-play qualifier. Emily White led U-M, tying for seventh at even-par 144.
• Reese Ng is the lone returning Wolverine to compete in all 10 team events last season, posting a 75.17 scoring average over 29 rounds. Her best 54-hole total was a 221 (+5) at the Puerto Rico Classic.
• Jaymie Ng played in six events as a freshman, averaging 74.78 over 18 rounds. She carded a career-low 69 in the final round of the Spartan Suncoast Invitational and tied for 42nd at the Big Ten Championships.
• Bartholdson brings 22 rounds of collegiate experience into her junior season. She recorded a career-best 220 (+7) at the Wolverine Invitational and added a season-low 69 in the second round of the Illini Women's Invitational.
• Michigan adds three freshmen -- Acutis, Kuwahara and Revuelta -- who each bring strong junior and international résumés to Ann Arbor. Acutis has won two prestigious Italian amateur championships, Revuelta has represented Spain at multiple European championships, and Kuwahara arrives after building one of the Midwest's top junior golf résumés.
• The Badger Invitational marks the debut of new Michigan assistant coach Jack Tanner. A former Australasian PGA Tour player and NCAA Division I golfer at South Dakota State and Memphis, Tanner brings international playing experience, player-development insight and a data-driven coaching background to the Wolverines.
