Michigan Athletics COVID-19 Updates
Last Updated: 9/16/2020
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Michigan Athletics supports and follows the University of Michigan's goals to deliver on our mission while protecting health and safety by minimizing the potential spread of the disease, both within our community and in the broader society. The changes U-M has implemented follow the general public health principle of limiting the interaction of people within larger groups to diminish disease transmission and protect everyone in our communities, particularly the most vulnerable.
President Mark Schlissel announced June 23 that the University of Michigan plans to offer a public health-informed in-residence semester this fall in Ann Arbor. It will consist of a mixture of in-person and remote classes. For more information, visit the Campus Maize and Blueprint site.
Visit the CDC's COVID-19 website at coronavirus.gov for information on how to protect yourself, what to do if you think you are sick, and more.
On March 23, Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order for the state calling for the suspension of most in-person work beginning March 24 through April 13. That order was extended several times before being lifted June 1 with a move to phase four of the MI Safe Start Plan. Details at michigan.gov/coronavirus.
