Scarpace has served as the team's video coordinator since 2004 and will now add responsibilities related to the overall development of student-athletes involved within the program.
A native of Dearborn, Mich., Scarpace began his collegiate hockey career in 1996 as a goalie at Western Michigan University. Following the 1997-98 season, Scarpace transferred to the University of Michigan. At Michigan, Scarpace went on to earn two varsity letters while compiling a career record of 6-2-0 along with a 1.94 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. He earned CCHA Rookie of the Week honors during the 1999-2000 season and helped the Wolverines win a CCHA championship in 2000 and reach the Frozen Four in 2001.
Following graduation in 2001, Scarpace played in the ECHL with the Dayton Bombers and Cincinnati Cyclones before returning to Michigan. In his role as video coordinator, Scarpace managed the team's video and statistical systems and assisted in the development of on-ice instruction at the Red Berenson Hockey Camp.
