Former Tufts All-American Danny Murphy is in his first season as the program's volunteer assistant coach.
Murphy, who recently completed his second season as an assistant coach at Tufts under head coach Casey D'Annolfo's staff, will work with the Michigan attack unit while assisting in scout and game prep.
As a player, he scored 290 points (150 goals, 140 assists) in 63 career games from 2016-19. He ranks sixth all-time in scoring for the Jumbos, and is tied for third in goals and is fourth in assists. In 2018, he had the sixth 100-point season (45 G, 55 A) in program history. A team captain in 2019, he played on three conference championship teams and the 2016 team that appeared in the Division III NCAA Championship game.
A United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American three times, Murphy also was a USILA Scholar All-American in 2019. He was selected to the New England Small College Athletic Conference first team three straight years, and also was a three-time New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association honoree.
Murphy originally hails from Hauppauge, N.Y., and graduated from Tufts in 2019 with a political science degree. He has worked numerous camps throughout the country, and has been a part-time coach for 3d Lacrosse the last two years.
