• Freshmen Luke Shannehan, Tay Rodriguez and Adam Udell have made an impression in collegiate lacrosse.
Shannehan ranks second on the team in points with 26, including 19 goals and seven assists. The attacker has recorded three hat tricks and has four multi-goal games through the first nine games of the season, with a career-best five goals on two occasions. Shannehan leads Michigan with his seven assists and has two games with two helpers.
Rodriguez leads the Michigan faceoff with 60 wins and has a .508 faceoff percentage. He also has a team-high 34 ground balls and has scored two goals and one assist.
Udell has shown his offensive prowess in the last two games, recording his first career hat trick against No. 12 Johns Hopkins. The freshman attacker also scored a goal against No. 1 Notre Dame and had two points at No. 17 Denver.
• Roode leads the Michigan offense with 28 points (23 goals, five assists). He has scored at least two goals in all but two games and recorded a hat trick in the first five games this season. Roode has a .771 shots-on-goal percentage, with 37 of his 48 shots reaching the cage.
• U-M held the high-powered Fighting Irish offense to seven goals below its season average of 16, giving up just nine goals. Senior goalie Hunter Taylor stopped 17 shots, just one save shy of his career high. Taylor made 10 saves in the first half, including seven in the second quarter to keep Michigan within striking distance in the first half.
• Michigan set a program record to open the 2026 season, scoring 24 goals against Mercyhurst. The Wolverines broke the previous program record of 23 set on Feb. 22, 2022, against Canisius. U-M went on a 14-1 run to open the game and finished with another 10 straight goals.
• U-M will remain at U-M Lacrosse Stadium when it hosts Rutgers on Sunday, April 5, for Senior Day. The contest will begin at noon, and the game will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
