Rachel Rane joined the Michigan Rowing staff as a volunteer assistant in the spring of 2024. She was elevated to the full-time staff in the summer later that year.

A native of Glencoe, Ill., Rane was a coxswain at the University of Texas, where she became a two-time first-team All-American (2021, '22) and a three-time All-Big 12 honoree (2021-23).

She helped the Longhorns to two team NCAA Championships in her three years of competition (2021-23). Rane was a three-year varsity eight competitor who won two NCAA gold medals. At the conference level, she helped the Longhorns capture three Big 12 team championships (2021-23) while coxing three Big 12 1V8 gold-medal-winning boats.

She earned her degree from UT in radio-television-film, accruing Academic All-Big 12 in all three seasons.
