In his first season at Michigan (2024-25), Aldred helped the Wolverines win the Big Ten Tournament title, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. In U-M’s first NCAA tournament appearance since 2021-22, the Wolverines advanced to the second weekend, ultimately falling to No. 1 Auburn in the Sweet 16. Michigan finished the season with a 27-10 record and a 14-6 record in the Big Ten.

Before coming to Ann Arbor, Aldred spent his final year at Furman holding the title of assistant head coach/director of basketball performance, becoming the nation's first basketball strength and conditioning coach to gain this promotion.
Throughout his six years with Paladin coach Bob Richey, Aldred was responsible for all aspects of the strength and conditioning efforts for the men's basketball program. He also worked with the Paladin's men's golf team, and the men's and women's cross country while mentoring his team of strength and conditioning fellows. His three fellows went on to roles with Kentucky and Virginia men's basketball and the NFL's Los Angeles Rams.
Furman compiled a 133-60 record during his six seasons, marking the best record of any Southern Conference school during that period. The Paladins posted four 20-plus win seasons, including a program record 28 wins in the 2022-23 season.
In 2023, Aldred helped the Paladins win the SoCon regular season title (15-3) and SoCon Tournament title giving Furman the school's first NCAA Tournament bid since 1980. In the first round, Furman knocked off ACC champion Virginia, 68-67, before falling to eventual Final Four and national runner-up San Diego State (75-52) in the second round.
Aldred's work has led to the notable development of numerous All-SoCon performers, including Mike Bothwell, Noah Gurley, Jordan Lyons, Clay Mounce, Matt Rafferty, Jalen Slawson, JP Pegues, and Marcus Foster. Bothwell and Slawson did not miss any games due to injury during their five-year careers and finished as Furman's all-time winningest players with 116 career victories.
Under Aldred's guidance, Slawson saw his production increase each season on his way to earning SoCon Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022, SoCon Player of the Year, and SoCon Male Athlete of the Year accolades in 2023 and being selected in the second round of the NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings.

The paper, "Monitoring Countermovement Jump Performance for Division I Basketball Players over the Competitive Season," focused on force plate data collected during the 2021-22 season and was published by the American Journal of Sport Science.
