Alicia Seegert, a Manchester, Michigan native played for Ann Arbor's Gabriel Richard H.S. She hit .396 as a U-M freshman, smacking four home runs and driving in 36 runners. The catcher's .418 batting average in conference play set a Big Ten record, as did her totals for hits, total bases and RBI. As a sophomore, she hit .338 overall and finished amongst the five leading hitters in Big Ten play. In 1986, she became the first U-M softball player to be named an All-American as she hit .353 and stroked five home runs. In Seegert's senior season, she hit .351 to be named an All-Big Ten selection for the second straight season. She ended her career holding 10 records in the Michigan softball record books, including career standards for at-bats, doubles, home runs, RBI and batting average. Seegert graduated from U-M in 1988 and was named to the Big Ten Conference's All-Decade team in 1992.
