Berendowsky Sets Career Goals Mark in Soccer Win

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Junior Amber Berendowsky (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) netted two goals and became the school's career goals leader to lead the University of Michigan women's soccer team to a 3-1 non-conference victory over Toledo at Michigan Soccer Field.
Berendowsky, who entered the game tied with Ruth Poulin (1994-97) for the U-M career goals record with 32, opened the scoring at 26:21 on a feed from Mari Hoff (Canton, Mich./Salem HS). Berendowsky struck again 18 minutes into the second half as she scored her ninth goal of the season and 34th of her career on an assist from Jessica Limauro (Troy, Mich./Troy HS).
Michigan went up 3-0 as Jen Stahl (Amston, Conn./Rham HS)scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Hoff at 73:13. Amanda Brown spoiled U-M's shutout bid with a late goal for the Rockets. U-M goalkeeper Jessica Jones (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) made two saves in picking up her sixth win of the season.
Michigan finishes up Big Ten Conference play Friday (Oct. 16) with a 3 p.m. match at Michigan State in East Lansing.
