Limauro Leads U-M Soccer Past Detroit 3-1

ANN ARBOR, MICH. -- Senior Jessica Limauro (Troy, Mich./Troy HS) registered her second two-goal effort in as many games as the Michigan women's soccer team remained unbeaten, knocking off Detroit by a score of 3-1.
Amber Berendowsky (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) opened the scoring with a shot in the upper corner of the net 12:53 into the game. Limauro would collect her first goal off a penalty kick after being taken down in the box. Her second goal came after she picked up a pass from Laurie Peterson (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) in front of the net. Detroit got on the board late in the second half.
Jessica Jones (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) played the first half in net for Michigan before giving way to Carissa Stewart (Topsham, Maine/Mt. Ararat HS) in the second half.
Michigan returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 4 p.m. at Eastern Michigan.
