ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's tennis team lost a 9-0 match against No. 2 Duke Saturday afternoon (March 6) at the Varsity Tennis Center. The Wolverines fell to 3-4 on the season, while the Blue Devils improved to 9-2.
The Blue Devils dominated the match, winning all six singles matches and the three doubles matches to hand the Wolverines their second shutout of the season (also lost 9-0 to No. 26 Tennessee on Feb. 14). Duke's lineup consists of five top 50 nationally ranked singles players and its top doubles tandem of Vanessa Webb and Karen Goldstein is listed No. 4 in the country.
The Wolverines will host No. 9 Wake Forest tomorrow (Sunday, March 7) at the Varsity Tennis Center, beginning at 11 a.m.
