Powers got the Wolverines on the board just 5:16 into the contest with her third goal of the weekend when she chipped in a rebound from junior defender Stephanie Johnson (Houston, Texas/The Kinkaid School) on a penalty corner. Fronzoni added another marker, and her first in three games, at 16:40 when junior defender Kristi Gannon (Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual HS) found her at the left side of the circle. Fronzoni flicked the shot toward BU goalkeeper Susan Harrington, who had the ball deflect off her and into the cage.
In the second half, Hortillosa ended her season-long scoring drought at 40:15 to conclude the scoring for Michigan. Hortillosa was all alone on the right side of the circle and slid her shot under Harrington as she went down to contest the shot.
Maloney did not see a shot during the afternoon but recorded her fourth shutout of the year.
Michigan will conclude its school-record nine-game homestand on Friday, Oct. 4, when it hosts No. 5 Michigan State. Game time is slated for 4 p.m. at Ocker Field.

Q U O T E S
U-M Head Coach Marcia Pankratz
On the game ... "I was really happy with our play, especially in the first half. We played very crisp and we transferred the ball well, which is something we've worked on and we did it really well. I was very happy about that."
On the eight-game win streak ... "I don't really worry about it, we just need to pay attention to Michigan State. Every game is going to be different from the last one, and State is a very strong team we are looking forward to next Friday."
On the upcoming Michigan State contest ... "They are very skilled and they are on an upswing as well just like we are. I think that when we beat then last year in overtime to go to the Final Four, I think they probably still remember that. I'm sure they would like to beat us, and like any Michigan-Michigan State matchup, it's going to be very competitive and a great rivalry. I think that in the nation we are two of the best teams so it will be exciting and there will be some great hockey out here."
Senior Forward Molly Powers
On her goal ... "Every time I'm in the circle I'm looking to score, I'm looking to get a tip on the ball, looking to finish and put them in the goal. I think now they're just falling for me, and I think maybe for the past three years I've been working on it and working on it and now it's starting to click for me."
On the upcoming Michigan State contest ... "That's the biggest game of season at this point as far we're concerned and it's going to be a tough game. They always bring their 'A' game to us no matter what the rankings and obviously we are rivals. Every year we are gunning for each other and it's going to be exciting that it's at home and it's on our turf. We've been focusing and training for it basically all season."
Sophomore Forward Adrienne Hortillosa
On her first goal of the year ... "It feels good to get the first goal off and especially against Boston U, we didn't get to them play them last year. It definitely gave me some confidence for the next match."
