U-M Takes on Michigan
The No. 12-ranked University of Michigan men's cross country team heads north on Friday (Oct. 10) for the Michigan Intercollegiate, hosted by Grand Valley State University. The 8,000-meter race will be held at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Hudsonville, Mich. and is slated to begin at 3 p.m. EDT.
Last Year at the Michigan Intercollegiate
Michigan captured second place (26 points) in the 4,000-meter race, putting all-five runners in the top 10. Sophomore Nate Brannen (Cambridge, Ontario/Preston HS) and freshman Nick Willis (Lower Hutt, New Zealand/Hutt Valley HS) led the Wolverines, placing third (12:17.1) and sixth (12:31.2), respectively. U-M also claimed seventh through 10th place in the race.
Michigan Claims Second at Notre Dame Invite
Sophomore Nick Willis (Lower Hutt, New Zealand/Hutt Valley HS) paced the Wolverines for the second consecutive week, leading Michigan to second place (92 points) in team scoring at the Notre Dame Invitational (Oct. 3). Willis also claimed second place individually, crossing the finish line at 24:26, a season-high mark. Senior Tom Greenless (Milford, Mich./Milford HS) collected his third top-10 effort of the season, placing fourth with a time of 24:38.

On the Horizon
The Wolverines will return to action in the NCAA Pre-Nationals on Saturday (Oct. 18) in Cedar Falls, Iowa. A preview of the NCAA Championships, the 8,000-meter race is slated to begin at 11 a.m. CDT.
