Armstrong Earns CWPA Southern Division Weekly Award

NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced Thursday (March 6) that University of Michigan sophomore Betsey Armstrong (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron HS) earned the CWPA's Southern Division Player of the Week accolade for her performance during the week of Feb. 24-March 2.

Armstrong has nine 10-plus save performances in Michigan's 14 games played this year. Her season high is 14 stops against Indiana (Jan. 25) and UC San Diego (Feb. 7).
This is the second time in her career Armstrong has won the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week honor. She earned the laurel on the identical date (March 6) in 2002.
No. 13-ranked Michigan is 6-8 this season and will be hosting the first Southern Division Tournament of the year this Saturday and Sunday (March 8-9) at Canham Natatorium.
