Armstrong Wins CWPA Southern Division Weekly Award

NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced Thursday (April 17) that University of Michigan sophomore goalkeeper Betsey Armstrong (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron HS) earned the CWPA's Southern Division Player of the Week accolade for her performance during the Southern Division Championships (April 11-13).

Armstrong has 16 10-plus save performances in Michigan's 29 games played this year. She now has 30 10-plus save performances in her career.
This is the third time Armstrong has won the CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week honor in her career, and the second time this season. She earned the laurel earlier this season on March 6 and as a freshman on March 6, 2002.
No. 9 Michigan is 20-9 this season and is the No. 1 seed for the Eastern Championships (April 25-27). The winner of the tournament will represent the CWPA at the NCAA Final Four (May 10-11).
