ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The 13th-ranked University of Michigan softball team, which lost to weather two Big Ten games vs. Iowa this past Friday and Saturday (April 4-5), has now cancelled today's (Wednesday, April 9) home doubleheader vs. Central Michigan due to unplayable conditions. The twinbill vs. CMU was originally scheduled for Tuesday (April 8) but was postponed until today in hopes of the playing field being ready.
Michigan head coach Carol Hutchins hopes to reschedule the doubleheader vs. the Chippewas, but a date has yet to be determined.
The Wolverines (21-8, 3-1 Big Ten) are on the road this weekend for four conference games. U-M is scheduled to play single games at Wisconsin on Friday (April 11, 6 p.m. CDT) and Saturday (April 12, noon CDT) in Madison, Wis., before facing Minnesota in a doubleheader Sunday (April 13, noon CDT) in Minneapolis, Minn.
