Taylor Taken by Rapids in MLS SuperDraft Third Round

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Former University of Michigan men's soccer defender Kevin Taylor (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) became the first player in the program's history to be drafted by a professional soccer team when he was nabbed with the 25th overall pick by the Colorado Rapids in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft. The draft was held today (Friday, Jan. 16) in conjunction with the 2004 National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Convention.

Taylor is scheduled to begin a month-long training camp in Denver, Colo., on Jan. 26. The Colorado Rapids open up their 2004 season April 3.
