DES MONIES, Iowa -- The University of Michigan women's track and field concluded the three-day non-scoring Drake Relays Saturday (April 24) with a relay victory on each of the three days of action. U-M posted its third relay title of the weekend when the foursome of mid-distance specialists, Theresa Feldkamp (Lorain, Ohio/Amherst Steele HS), Tracy Egnatuk (Albion, Mich./Albion HS), Anna Jones (Omaha, Neb./Marion HS) and Lindsey Gallo (Freehold, N.J./Howell HS) claimed the top spot in the 4x800-meter relay with a winning time of 8:43.42.
The U-M quartet's time bettered runner-up Iowa by more than five seconds as the Hawkeye relay squad crossed the finish line in 8:48.87. It marks the third consecutive day in which a Wolverine relay has taken home top honors. Thursday (April 22), Michigan won the 4x1,600-meter relay with a meet record time of 19:15.56 and Friday (April 23), U-M won the distance medley relay in 11:11.28.
Gallo was the anchor of every winning Michigan relay this weekend, while it marked the second relay title for Feldkamp and Jones. Feldkamp led off the 4x1,600 and Jones ran the 800-meter leg on the distance medley relay.
In individual action, Sierra Hauser-Price (Van Nuys, Calif./Notre Dame HS) ran a season-best time and NCAA regional qualifying 11.71 to finish second in the 100-meter dash. It marked the second straight day in which the Michigan junior posted a time of 11.71, as she ran the exact time during the prelims of the event. Robin Landfair (Okemos, Mich./Okemos HS) also competed individually and finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.85, an NCAA regional qualifying time as well.
In the final race of the weekend, U-M's quartet of Carly Knazze (Southfield, Mich./Southfield HS), Shavonne Maclin (University Heights, Ohio/Beaumont HS), Mora Arnold (Gregory, Mich./Chelsea HS) and Keri Kirk (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron HS) came in third in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:47.01.
The Wolverines will again be in two different time zones, as the Maize and Blue will be represented at the Stanford Twilight (May 1) and at the Jesse Owens Classic (April 30-May 1) next weekend. It will be the last weekend of track and field action before Michigan's lone home meet of the outdoor season; the Len Paddock Invitational.
