BELLEVILLE, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's rowing team competed against Ohio State today (Saturday, Oct. 1) in a series of controlled pieces on Belleville Lake.
U-M had two eights and one four while OSU had two eights and a pair of fours. There were five total pieces for the eights and the fours. Each piece lasted five minutes and the stroke limit was set at 25 strokes per minute.
In the eights races each of the four crews won at least one race. In the races between the fours the Wolverines finished first all five times.
"I was really pleased with our effort today," said U-M head coach Mark Rothstein. "It was good racing against Ohio State. I think there was a lot of parity among the four eights. Our four performed well winning each piece. This provides a good starting point and we need to move forward from here."
