First Day in Vegas Rained Out, Won't Be Rescheduled

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The University of Michigan softball team lost its first two games of the season to weather today as rain caused the cancellation of all day-one games at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic hosted by UNLV. No. 8 Michigan's regularly scheduled games today against No. 9 Tennessee and Central Florida will not be made up.
The tournament is set to resume tomorrow with the regular schedule for Saturday and Sunday games. Michigan's season opener is now tomorrow (Feb. 12, 3 p.m. PST) vs. No. 15 Baylor with a second game vs. UC Santa Barbara (8 p.m. PST). The Wolverines close out the weekend on Sunday (Feb. 13) vs. 13th-ranked Oregon (2 p.m. PST).
