For the weekend, Wilson struck out 19 and walked nine, allowing just one run on three hits in 11.2 innings of work while earning tournament MVP recognition. The sophomore is 2-0 for the season and 10-0 for her Michigan career. Michigan (8-1) went 5-0 over the weekend to claim the FAU Classic title for the second straight season and run its win streak to eight.
Wilson and the rest of the No. 8/9 Michigan softball team face their stiffest challenge of the season this weekend (Feb. 25-27) at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga. Considered the premier non-conference tournament in college softball, the 24-team Leadoff Classic features 11 teams ranked among the nation's top 25 by either the NFCA/USA Today or ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.
Michigan opens pool play on Friday (Feb. 25) vs. South Carolina at 2:30 p.m.
