Wilson opened the tournament for the Wolverines with a dominating 12-strikeout performance vs. Cal State Fullerton on Thursday (March 17). She allowed just one hit and two unearned runs in a 3-2 win over the tournament host. The 12-strikeout effort vs. Fullerton was her fifth double-digit strikeout performance of the season, while her shutout of Texas was her fifth of the year.
Wilson's 20.1 innings of work without allowing an earned run this weekend extended to 55.0 innings her consecutive innings streak of not allowing an earned run. She last allowed an earned run in the fourth inning of a 9-1 win over Florida Atlantic on Feb. 20.
Wilson's other Big Ten weekly honor came on Feb. 22, while today's award is the second for a Wolverine hurler in three weeks after Jennie Ritter (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS) was recognized on March 8.
Wilson and the rest of the Wolverines put the nation's longest winning streak on the line this weekend (March 25-26) at the Courtyard by Marriott Classic in Louisville, Ky. Michigan opens tournament action on Friday (March 25, 4 p.m.) vs. Western Kentucky.
