Michigan coach Kathy Teichert
On the Wolverines performance at the Central Regional ... "It was great that we were here. We tried to pull out all the stops today and we need to shoot 293 or 294 just to get in and that didn't happen. I have to say that the way our players fought back was just great to see. This is an exceptional team with exceptional girls. Yesterday's round play was tough. We didn't play well. But this is still a young program and it's great to be in this position. The more they are in it, the more they see it, the more they want it, the more they feel it, the more comfortable you are going to be being out here in a tournament like this. There are a lot of good and quality team's that didn't get a chance to qualify or make it to a regional. For us to be here is just another good sign for this program."
On the play of Brianna Broderick ... "She had a great regional. She just played so well and within herself the entire time. You can't fault her for not making it farther. It just wasn't in the there for her this time. She is going to be a player to be reckoned with throughout her collegiate career. We expect more and greater things from her in the years to come. She has the swing to do it, she has the mindset to do it and she's got the motivation and desire to be great."
Sophomore Brianna Broderick
On her Central Regional performance ... "It was a great experience. Surprisingly I hit the ball really well and I was really consistent. I had a few mental mistakes that cost me, but you are going to have those in every round. The best players just try to overcome that and I tried my best to do that. I just tried to stay patient this tournament and trust my swing because I knew it was there. Like I said, it was a great experience and a great time. It just wasn't my time, so we'll work on it next year."
On her thoughts about the Wolverines total season ... "I think it went well. We had our ups and downs, but you are going to have those. Some of them came at bad times, like the conference tournament, but as a whole I think we did really well and our team chemistry is fabulous. We have the players that can make things happen."
