CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Four members of the University of Michigan women's golf team -- Mara Janess, Thomasine Bartholdson, Jaymie Ng and Reese Ng -- were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team, the organization announced Monday (July 13).
The four honorees are the most for Michigan since 2017 and raise the program's total to 35 WGCA All-American Scholar selections. Janess also became the fifth Wolverine to become a three-time recipient after previously earning the honor in 2024 and 2025.
The award recognizes student-athletes for their success in the classroom and on the course. To be eligible, golfers must carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average while competing in at least 50 percent of their team's scheduled rounds.
Janess put together another strong season in her final campaign. She was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten selection after posting a career-best 74.39 scoring average. She recorded three top-20 finishes during the season, including a career-low 54-hole total of 211 (-5) at the Illini Women's Invitational.
Bartholdson picked up the first WGCA academic honor of her career after a bright sophomore campaign. She played in eight tournaments, highlighted by a career-low 69 in the Wolverine Invitational, while also earning Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten recognition.
Both freshmen -- Jaymie and Reese Ng -- made an immediate impact in Michigan's lineup while adding WGCA All-American Scholar honors to their debut seasons.
Jaymie played in seven tournaments and finished second on the team with a 73.90 scoring average. She turned in Michigan's best individual finish of the season, placing runner-up at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, and closed with a season-low 69 in the final round of the Spartan Suncoast Invitational.
Reese started all 12 tournaments for the Wolverines and was one of the team's steadiest performers throughout the year. She finished with a 74.55 scoring average, recorded three top-20 finishes and carded a career-best 69 during the second round of the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional.
