Michigan Head Coach Carol Hutchins
On today's game against Oklahoma ... "What a great game. ESPN got the game they wanted. I thought both pitchers did a great job. D.J. (Mathis) was great for them today, and our pitching was up to the task. It was a pitchers' duel and we came up the big hit when we needed it. We had to persevere until we could get to that point. That was the key to the game, persevering through every inning. That was the key to winning."
U-M Senior Pitcher Jennie Ritter
On moving past mistakes ... "I told myself and the team that we're going to be okay. People make errors, we're not perfect. I just told the team in the locker room, 'I'm not always perfect so I can't get on people.' On top of that, she didn't mean to miss it. We'll be okay, we've just got to fight through it."
On the team's mentality ... "I think we're loving each other and loving every minute of playing together. When it gets into the postseason, it's two more games and you're done. Any game could be your last game. I think that's what's guiding us right now. We're definitely fired up right now."
U-M Junior Leftfielder Rebekah Milian
On her hit in the ninth inning ... "I was just trying to put the ball on the ground, which I didn't do quite perfectly. But it still worked."
U-M Sophomore Centerfielder Alessandra Giampaolo
On her game-winning hit ... "I could probably get used to it. My favorite at-bats are when they walk the person in front of me intentionally. Then I feel like they don't think I'm going to hit it. I get fired up from that. I knew she was pitching me outside, and I was having some trouble hitting the outside pitches. I think she missed her spot because it was right where I was going to swing."
On the excitement surrounding the postseason ... "It's a whole different mentality on the team than there was a month ago. We all can feel it. Even the spectators can feel it. It's the excitement of having the chance to go to the World Series, having the chance to do what we did last year. I think it's firing up the team a lot more because now we believe we can do it."
