Hoogenboom Garners CWPA Player of the Week Award

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior Kristin Hoogenboom (Portland, Ore./Sunset) of the University of Michigan women's water polo team was selected as the CWPA Western Division Player of the Week for her performance at the Eastern Championship (April 28-30). Hoogenboom led all Wolverines in points (11) and goals (7) in three games to help Michigan to a second-place finish.

In a 6-5 win over Brown in the opening round of the championship tournament, Hoogenboom was in on five of Michigan's six scores as she recorded a hat trick and two assists. She also contributed a field block and a drawn ejection.
The senior followed up her first-round performance by tallying three points on a goal and two assists in an 8-5 win over Princeton. Hoogenboom also registered two steals in the contest.
In the championship loss to Hartwick, Hoogenboom scored three times for her fifth hat trick of the season and forced two steals and two ejections. Her stellar play allowed the Wolverines to become the first team in CWPA history to reach the Eastern Championship final in three straight seasons.
