ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- After a steady stream of rain throughout the morning and early afternoon, the University of Michigan softball team was forced to cancel its non-conference game against Bowling Green on Wednesday (April 25) due to wet conditions on the playing field. No makeup date has been set.
Today's game had been an addition to the schedule after poor weather wiped out home series against Penn State and Ohio State earlier this month. The Wolverines have lost six games due to weather this season.
The ninth-ranked Wolverines (37-8, 8-2 Big Ten) will instead kick off their homestand with a pair of Big Ten Conference series this weekend. U-M will play Minnesota on Friday (April 27, 6 p.m.) and Saturday (April 28, 1 p.m.) before wrapping up the weekend with a noon doubleheader against Wisconsin on Sunday (April 29). All games will be held at Alumni Field.
