Michigan Earns Five CWPA All-Academic Accolades

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced its selections for the 2006-2007 Women's All-Academic team Tuesday (June 5), recognizing the University of Michigan women's water polo team and four players on the team for their academic accomplishments this past season. The CWPA awards a team for earning a 2.75 or higher team GPA and awards an individual athlete for earning a 3.20 GPA or higher.
Senior Wesley Ellison (Portola Valley, Calif./Palo Alto) and sophomore Lauren Briskin (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) earned the top honor, being tagged with outstanding all-academic honors for a GPA of 3.71 to 4.0. Ellison wraps up her career having earned the CWPA All-Academic accolades in each of her four years. Junior Michelle Keeley (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) and sophomore Carrie Stover (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) earned superior all-academic honors for a GPA of 3.41 to 3.70.
Michigan finished the season 24-16, claiming a Western Division championship and a semifinal appearance at the Eastern Championship.
