Marosevic Selected to Pan-American Soccer Team

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Sophomore forward Peri Marosevic (Rockford, Ill./Edison Academic Center) of the University of Michigan men's soccer team has been named to the 17-man roster of the U.S. Mens Pan-American Soccer Team, which will play July 13-26 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Marosevic achieved great success as team captain of the U.S. Under-18 squad this past June during the Lisbon International Tournament. He scored three of the teams four goals of the competition, including the only U.S. goal in the teams 3-1 loss against New Zealand and two goals in its 3-2 victory over Norway.
The U.S. team will face Venezuela on Sunday, July 15, Bolivia on Wednesday, July 18, and Mexico on Saturday, July 21. The semifinals will take place on Tuesday, July 24, and conclude with the finals on Friday, July 27.
Marosevic led the Wolverines during the 2006 season with five goals, 12 points, 66 shots and 24 shots on goal. Michigan begins exhibition play on Thursday, Aug. 23 against Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Mich.
