DURHAM, N.C. -- The No. 21-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team continued play at the Duke Invitational Sunday (Jan. 20) at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center, claiming six singles victories and a doubles sweep over the No. 16-ranked and host Blue Devils.

Senior Matko Maravic(Zagreb, Croatia/V. Gimnazija) picked up his second straight victory at the three-day round robin tournament, defeating David Goulet by a 6-4, 6-1 margin. Junior Andrew Mazlin(Altamonte Springs, Fla./Lyman HS) also earned another quality win, outlasting Dylan Arnould by a score of 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.

U-M was victorious in all four doubles matches against Duke. Maravic and sophomore George Navas(Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory School) posted an 8-5 decision over Goulet and Christopher Price. The 23rd-ranked tandem of sophomore Mike Sroczynski(Chatham, N.J./Laurel Springs School) and freshman Jason Jung(Torrance, Calif./West Torrance HS) won its second straight match of the weekend with an 8-6 decision over Reid Carleton and Kiril Dimitrov.

The Duke Invitational is not scored as a team effort. However, each match counts toward the individual players' records and rankings.

The Wolverines conclude play at the Duke Invitational on Monday (Jan. 21) against No. 53-ranked Elon beginning at 9 a.m.
