
Pacioretty Named to CCHA All-Rookie Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Freshman forward Max Pacioretty(New Canaan, Conn.) of the CCHA champion University of Michigan hockey team was selected to the CCHA All-Rookie team, the league announced on Monday (March 10).
Pacioretty led all CCHA freshmen with 28 points (12-16-28) in 25 league contests. He tallied at least one point in 20 CCHA games. His CCHA highlights included two goals, including the game-winner, vs. Ohio State on Dec. 1 and a two-goal, one-assist effort at CCHA runner-up Miami on Feb. 9. Pacioretty had five other multi-point games in CCHA play. For Michigan, he finished third on the team in league scoring, trailing senior linemates Kevin Porter and Chad Kolarik.
Overall, the 6-2, 203-pound left wing has accrued a line of 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points in 31 games. Among the nation's rookie class, Pacioretty is tied for seventh overall in points and fourth in points per game (1.03). For Michigan, his 14 goals rank third on the roster, while his 32 points are fourth. Pacioretty is riding a career-best, four-game goal streak heading into the postseason. In the fall, he posted a point in nine straight games en route to earning CCHA Rookie of the Month honors for November.
Joining Pacioretty on the CCHA All-Rookie team is Carter Camper (Miami), Jacob Cepis (Bowling Green), Mark Olver (Northern Michigan), Erik Gustafsson (Northern Michigan), Jeff Petry (Michigan State) and Nick Eno (Bowling Green).
U-M forward Aaron Palushaj(Northville, Mich.) and defenseman Chad Langlais(Spokane, Wash.)received CCHA All-Rookie team honorable mention. Palushaj was second among CCHA rookies with a 6-21-27 line in 28 games. His 21 assists led the entire league. Overall, he finished third on the Wolverines with 8-27-35 totals. Langlais led all U-M defensemen in assists and points with 14 helpers. Overall, he has a 0-17-17 line to lead all Michigan blue liners in scoring.
Michigan will host Nebraska-Omaha this weekend (March 14-16) in a best-of-three series in the CCHA Tournament quarterfinals.
