MADISON, Wis. -- The No. 9-ranked University of Michigan softball team claimed the 5-0 win in its suspended contest against Wisconsin when the field was judged too wet for competition on Sunday (April 26). The Wolverines led the slate in the bottom half of the sixth last night (Saturday, April 25), but with it being called, the game reverted back to the last complete inning played -- the end of the fifth.

With the two-game sweepat Wisconsin, U-M extended its winning streak to 14 consecutive games, including 10 straight in Big Ten Conference competition.

Sophomore pitcher Jordan Taylor(Valencia, Calif./Valencia HS) earned the win from the circle, upping her season record to 14-4, with seven strikeouts and two walks in a complete-game, one-hit shutout. The shutout effort was her sixth of the season and 21st of her career, moving her into a tie with Marie Barda (1998-2001) and junior Nikki Nemitz (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Regina HS) for 10th place among Michigan's all-time shutout leaders. Nemitz earned her 21st career shutout in yesterday's 10-0 game-one decision against the Badgers.

The Wolverines (34-9, 10-2 Big Ten) will kick off a seven-game homestand on Wednesday (April 29), continuing Big Ten play with a 4 p.m. doubleheader against Indiana at the Wilpon Softball Complex, home of Alumni Field.
